About Me: 

Born on 22nd Sept. 1956 in the present Isoko North L.G.A of Delta State. I completed my Primary School Education in 1968 at Warri. Thereafter, proceeded to the Immaculate Conception College(ICC), Benin City and Holy Trinity Grammar School, Sabongidda -Ora for my secondary education. I later had higher education at the Auchi Polytechnic (1975-1999), University of Benin (1986-1991) for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sculture and finally the Delta State University, Abraka (2002-2006) for Ph.D in Art History. I have been in the employment of the University of Benin as an Academic Staff teaching and researching into the traditional arts of the Nigerian people in Art, History and Sculpture. Dr. Efemena Ononeme is an astute University administrator. He is presently and at several other times been Head of Fine and Applied Arts Department, Assistant Dean-Faculty of Arts, Chairman-University Cultural Activities Committee etc.at the University of Benin. With over two decades of practice, he is an established figure on the Nigerian and International Scenes. His goal is to create and expend effort in the production of works that chronicle his encounters with material and conceptual realities.
