4 Years Entry Requirements.
Admission Requirements for four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UME)
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualification:
At least five Ordinary Level credit pass in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE or at least five merit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings. The Subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
NOTE: The University Matriculation Examination (UME) subjects are
a. Use of English
b. Any three of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry):
In addition to requirements in A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i). At least two Advanced level passes in General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any of the their recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should be selected.
(ii). At least a credit pass level pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following:
a. Geology (DIG)
b. Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT).
(iii). Diploma from recognized Universities with atleast an Upper credit level pass in the areas listed in B.(ii) above.
(iv). Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an Upper credit level pass in science Laboratory Technology (SLT, Minning or other relevant areas from recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology or Petroleum Training Institute (PTI)
(v). Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower credit level pass in science.
(vi). Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower credit pass in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Minning or other relevant areas from recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology or Petroleum Training Institute (PTI)
(vii). Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit pass in Biology or Chemistry from a recognized College of Education. In addition cadidates should have at least an overall merit level pass.
