ON-LINE REGISTRATION OF ENROLEES WITH NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME
The Management of the University of Benin wishes to inform all staff that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has developed an Online Portal where all principal enrollees can create their personal account and view their registration status.
All principal enrollees, registered with the NHIS are to carry out this registration by visiting their website www.nhis.gov.ng.
Enrollees are expected to enter their personal details as they appear in their NHIS identity Card.
To complete the process, principal enrollees are to Click on the Formal Sector, Review and Update button and then follow the instructions to create an Online web account as follows:
STEP I – Open NHIS website (www.nhis.gov.ng)
STEP-II- Click on “FORMAL SECTOR REVIEW” on the right side of Screen
STEP III- Click “REGISTER’’ on the left side of the screen and fill
The fields NB:
(a) You need your NHIS NO, Surname, Date of Birth, Phone No. your own Password(Your password should be minimum 5, maximum 20 Characters)
(a) On completion of “step III’ You will receive a code through an SMS. Input the code received and click ‘’SUBMIT’’ You will receive a message that says your web account has been successfully created.
STEP IV- Thereafter click ‘’LOGIN’’ to open your web account
Default username-your’’ NHIS number’’
Password-your “selected password’’
You will be asked to select 2 security questions and provide the
answers. Thereafter click ‘’SUBMIT’’
Your registration details as held in the NHIS database will open up to you
showing yourself, spouse and/or all dependants under 18 years. You may
