The aim of this study was to investigate the possible changes in the output of proximal vergence with age. Proximal vergence is the convergence induced by the awareness of nearness of fixated object. It is one of the components of convergence classified by Maddox . Recent research has indicated that the potential contribution of proximal vergence to the total vergence response may be more substantial than previously considered.
