The study was on the survey of fish pond management practices in Delta State of Nigeria. A total of 41 questionnaire were randomly administered out of 103 registered ADP fish farmers. Simple descriptive statistics was used to analyze the questionnaire. The results showed that a higher percentage of the farmer (42.1% and 36.8%) were hobby and part time farmers and the average age of the farmers was 47 years.

This paper discussed the financing of tertiary business education trainees in Nigeria. The paper also identified the various sources of fund available to tertiary institutions. Issues of underfunding, particularly evidence of underfunding and implications were discussed. It highlighted that percentage highest expenditure by government on education is grossly below 26% UNESCO recommendation. Some recommendations were made such as voting adequate sum of money to tertiary business education teacher trainees by government at different level.

Desensitisation of the calcium – sensitivity of vascular smooth muscle contractile responses were studied in the isolated perfused rat tail artery, employing the activators noradrenaline (NA) (3μm) and potassium chloride (KCL) (100mM). Experiments were conducted in [Ca2+]free buffered saline. Activators were added when (Ca2+) was low (Iμm) and the [Ca2+]free was increased stepwise to give a Ca2+ concentration – response curve (CCRC).

This paper reviews the role of Zooplankton migration in luring fishes vertically and horizontally to gather in fishing areas. Zooplankton in their vertical migration at night to graze on phytoplankton at the surface, and descending in daytime to avoid intense sunlight and current by navigation operation motivate an association-migration of zooplanktovorous fishes closely followed by lonesome piscivorous predators.

The study examined fish packaging operation in two local government areas of Ekenwan in Edo State and Koko in Delta State, Nigeria. The information was collected with a well structured questionnaire. A total of one hundred and sixty (160) questionnaires were distributed equally in two markets of the study areas. The data obtained from the study was analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results obtained reveled that majority of the fish processors within the study areas were married women who were not educated beyond the first leaving school Certificate.

Aims: To determine if free eye screening can improve clinic attendance, bed occupancy and detect previously unrecognized diseases in tertiary hospitals.
Methods: A free eye screening programme was conducted at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital over 5 days. The demographic data of the subjects were obtained, their eyes were examined and the findings recorded. The number of patients attending clinic and bed occupancy at one week, one month and three months after screening were determined.

The study investigated frustration as predictor of pro-active sport behaviour of NUGA athletes in South Eastern Nigeria. It was hypothesized that frustration will not significant predict pro-active sport behavior of NUGA athletes. Ex-post facto research method was used for the study. The research data were collected using PSB measuring instrument from 521 NUGA athletes. A reliability coefficient of 0.92 was obtained using test reset method. Five sports were selected from 15 NUGA sports based on laid down criteria.

Most societal problems encountered by women globally has a direct link with the concept of gender. Gender Imbalance permeates every facet of the Nigerian society. This paper sought to find out the extent of gender imbalance in academic staff of tertiary institutions. The design was survey study, and the population consisted of all Business Education Lecturers. The researchers sought to know the extent of disparity that exist between male and female academics by numeric strength and by rank. It was found that there is a disparity against the female by numerical strength.

This study investigated the Mock Examination as a predictor of students’ performance in SSCE Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Edo State. Discussion was focused on the following special question: Is there any significant sex difference in the predictive value of mock examination for students’ performance in SSCE Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry? Gender issues and associated discontent are real but difficult to fathom their extent and spread. The study ascertains the proportion of female to male students’ enrollment, the ratio of female to male academic staff in the university, as an important corollary highlight the hidden experiences of female students and academics. 500 students and 183 members of staff were selected using the simple stratified random sampling technique.

This paper examined gender and leadership in polytechnics and other vocational and technical related institutions. This was tackled by the analytical study of the opportunities given to females to be educated and to occupy leadership positions in polytechnics, monotechnics and technical colleges. One major finding was that of Nigeria’s fifty-eight (58) polytechnics; there are only three female rectors represented by five percent (5%) which is grossly inadequate. Another finding was that women are undermined when it comes to the appointment of senior management personnel.

The paper provides an in-depth analysis of gender bias in representation of Israel’s sin in the book of Hosea. It also recognized that prevailing interpretations of the Bible especially Israel’s sin were at the foundation of women’s oppression. Hosea in his prophetic message made use of imagery of female sexual abuse as a means of representing male social and political sins, and their consequences reflect a devaluation and denigration of women. The work further examined how women in the Yoruba culture are identified with the object that elicits scorn and abuse.

This paper investigated gender differences in stress management among university lecturers in the Niger Delta. A coping-with-stress questionnaire of the four-point likert scale was personally administered to response in universities within the Niger Delta area. The subject consisted of 400 lecturers (200 males and 200 females) selected through stratified random sampling procedures. Three (3) null hypotheses were formulated and tested, using t-test and ANOVA statistic analysis.

The research work was carried out to ascertain the causes of gender disparity in technical-vocational skills acquisition programme. Two research questions were raised to guide the study, while a survey design method was used for the study. A total population of 185 respondents was used for the study. A 20-item questionnaire was used to elicit information from the respondents. The findings showed that the unconscious influence of the society and parental/guardian opinion cause gender disparity in the acquisition of technical-vocational skills.

This is in line with item three in the millennium development goals which recognized the fact that the germinal point in development is the human factor. Therefore, for development to take place the human factor must be fully mobilized.
