It is now widely recognized that ownership and control over assets such as land and housing provide economic security, incentives for taking economic risks that lead to growth and important economic returns including income. Yet, women in many counties are far less likely than men to enjoy ownership or control of these important assets. Ensuring female property and inheritance rights would help to empower women and rectify a fundamental injustice [1].

Because defects in the phenylalanine hydroxylase gene (PAH) cause phenylketonuria (PKU), PAH was studied for normal polymorphisms and linkage disequilibrium soon after the gene was cloned. Studies in the 1980s concentrated on European populations in which PKU was common and showed that haplotype-frequency variation exists between some regions of the world. In European populations, linkage disequilibrium generally was found not to exist between

The prevalence of HIV in Nigeria has been on a steady rise within the past decade. By the end of 1999, 2.7 million Nigerians were living with HIV/AIDS, translating into 400,000 new cases since the end of 1997. Despite glaring
statistics and evidence of HIV/AIDS as a major health crisis, there is a general under reaction, self-denial and subdued population response to the disease.

Accounting information aids decision-making in the process of making a choice between or among alternative courses of action. The roles of accounting in this process cannot be underestimated. These can be substantiated by the reactions of investors to the financial statements of Organizations. Our reaction to an organization whose financial statement shows that it has been doing very well for the past five years or so is that we could invest in it if such an
organization goes into the Capital Market...

Fish have been identified to be of great importance in Nigeria in meeting the animal protein need. The supply is in short of the demand due to some of the problems associated with the main source of supply (i.e capture fisheries with the natural water bodies already over fished and polluted). Emphasis is lately being shifted from the
capture to culture fisheries (i.e Aquaculture).
