Some marine phytoplankton species from Atlantic Ocean, Nigeria

A study of phytoplankton in marine ecfo systems in Nigeria was carried out. Phytoplankton samples for qualitative studies were collected by Hydrobios plankton net of 55µm mesh size. Identification was done using a Leitz compound microscope and the density was estimated using a haemocytometer. Water samples were collected into clean plastic containers for chemical analysis while in situ measurement of temperature, pH and conductivity were made.
