REGENERATION OF CHROMOLAENA ODORATA (L) K. & R. IN CRUDE OIL POLLUTED SOIL: A POSSIBLE PHYTOREMEDIATING AGENT

Regeneration of Chromolaena odorata in crude oil polluted soil was investigated. Leaf emergence was observed in the control and all the crude oil treated soils. Leaf growth, as obtained from leaf area measurements, was crude oil concentration dependent. The plants grown in higher concentrations of crude oil had depressed leaf growth.
