OVERCOMING HURDLES OF STEREOTYPES ABOUT SEX AND LEADERSHIP:

Stereotype is an idea that people have about a particular group or thing which may be positive or negative. Stereotype about sex and leadership especially about women could be projected out of the fear the individual has about a situation irrespective of the reality of the case. The dominant paradigm in Nigeria that prevents women from moving forward in education, administration, politics, religion and many others must be tackled. Women should be determined to work twice as hard as the men academically, physically, socially, economically and otherwise. There should be continuous research in gender issues to allow for strong data base in this area in Nigeria.
