Epidermal morphology and ontogeny of Stomata in Boerhavia species (Nyctaginaceae)
Mature structure of stomata and their ontogeny in the leaves of Boerhavia erecta Burm.f., B. diffusa L. and B. coccinea Mill. have been studied. The epidermal cells are sinuously walled on the upper surface and irregular on the lower in two of the taxa, except B. occinea which is straight walled. The leaves are amphistomatic but the number of stomata on the adaxial surface is much lower than abaxial surface.
