CAN TIGHT NECKTIE BE A RISK FACTOR IN DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESSION OF PRIMARY-OPEN ANGLE GLAUCOMA (POAG)

Background Information: Tight neckties have been documented to alter intraocular pressure (lOP) and thus may be a risk factor in the development and progression of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). Many professionals and white-collar jobs require the use of neck ties for the greater part of the day. Tight necktie wearers are unaware of its effect on intraocular pressure and glaucoma.
