The University of Benin ,on Friday the 23rd of November held activies to mark it's 37th Founder's day Ceremony.
The event was a gathering of "who-is-who", various people from all works of life and every single strata of the society turned out to witness this "epoch"making event.
The Chairman of the occasion was Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, the Executive Governor of Edo state, while the former Governor of Cross Rivers State ,
Mr Donald Duke , who was accompanied on this visit by his pretty wife, Onare Duke was the Guest Speaker .

The ceremonies for the occasion began with an inter-denomination service, which was held at the Akin Deko Auditorium of the University of Benin in the morning.

Later in the afternoon, following the arrival of the Chairman, the Executive Governor of Edo state, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor and the very popular Guest Speaker, Mr. Donald Duke, the former executive Governor of Cross Rivers state. The guest speaker Donald Duke held the audience spell bound as he gave his speech on "Globalization and the future of Nigeria", regaling the audience with some of his memorable experiences and achievements in office.

Subsequently, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), presented an award to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin as, “the best Vice Chancellor for the year 2007”
